Patient Testimonials
Ear Surgeries
Dear Dr. Mol,
Many thanks and heartfelt appreciation for your patience, thorough examination and loveable personality.
It is a relief that I have good ear health and that you dispelled my concern of ear issues. I have done some reading on SCM muscle and will follow through with your advice.
I take this opportunity to thanks you for the introduction to the speech and hearing therapists. They were extremely helpful and spent time to test Greg’s ears.
Unfortunately, there has been some further hearing loss. They enlightened us that his Widex aids need to be serviced every four years. Greg will be visiting the clinic yearly for a routine test.
Many thanks for your time and professionalism. I appreciate your kindness for a non-paying follow-up consultation and that I could be accommodated at short notice.
I wish you an abundance of blessings that you will continue to treat many patients who have severe problems.
I wanted to express my absolute pleasure and joy at having been introduced to yourselves and to Dr. Duane Mol, through Dr. Neil Scott.
Over many years I have had numerous operations and medical procedures, and as a golfer and classic car dealer I am acquainted with many doctors and specialists, but your practice is beyond special , kind, caring, skilled, professional and, in my belief, an absolute gift from heaven for those who are fortunate enough to be exposed to all of you.
I would like to thank Dr. Mol personally for making the whole experience of an operation such that I had, the mental comfort that it was for me.
In addition, the experience at the Netcare Union Hospital from every person and staff member encountered was a true pleasure, with everyone of pleasant and caring manner, so utterly different to the many other hospitals and clinics I have spent time at.
Sincere thanks and congratulations to all at your practice and to Netcare Union Hospital. You are all extremely special people.
What an amazing experience being your patient for the past year.
It all started when I had an operation in my left ear two years ago at another practice. After the operation, I could hear better for a day, after which the hearing diminished again. It was a failed attempt. I had to wear earpieces to be able to hear again and to support me in my line of work. This was not a long-term solution for me and I had to find another solution. I was listening to the radio one morning, on my way to work, when your name came up and a discussion regarding the “Hear for Life Foundation.” At that stage, I thought to myself, I have to go see this doctor. But alas, time went by and situations caused me not to be able to get to that point to actually make an appointment. Last year (2015), it all began. I was fed up with struggling to hear and my wife reminded me about Dr. Mol. I went to Google and searched for “Dr. Mol” and found his website. I made an appointment and from there I had both my ears done. Now I can once again live life confidently and communicate with ease.
I want to thank you for giving back the gift I gradually lost over the past ten years, and that is to be able to hear again.
You are blessed with an amazing talent, and that is to turn the darkest of emotions into something beautiful. You have a spontaneous personality that makes one feel at ease when in your midst.
I remember the time my wife wanted to faint after seeing the DVD you made of the procedure. You comforted her and made sure she was better before we left. Very few people, if any, these days would have done what you did.
You have wonderful staff, that made sure that all procedures were understood. They also came and visited on the day of admission. This was also a first for me. Never before have I experienced this kind-hearted act. On top of this, your friendly staff brought me a get well gift.
To any person reading this, I would strongly recommend Dr. Mol and his team. They are very professional and humble. The best I came across in my life.
Once again, thank you all very much and be blessed.
Dear Dr. Mol, Madelein, Denise and clinic staff members,
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your assistance. The ladies are kind, friendly, and very helpful. Not once did I get a short, snarky answer, no matter how many times I phoned. Always courteous.
The surgery day was a breeze with the exceptional care of the clinic staff members. Again, everyone was friendly and I was well taken care of. The facility gets a 10/10 in my book!
Dr. Mol, I have struggled to hear, breathe, smell, taste, and sleep for the last four years. I am a music teacher and I could not hear harmonies or any dynamic shading in my choir’s singing. When I played piano, the sound would split in my ear. I would hear a high and low sound at the same time, but off key. It was terrible. My kids had to touch my arm before they talked to me, so I would know to look at them when they speak. There were times when even watching people’s mouths move, I couldn’t understand what they were saying. I started shying away from conversations and kept to myself as even my speech slurred. A lonely place to be.
Today, I can hear my kid’s voices, breathing and talking is easy, and my life is a pleasure! I cannot put into words the difference. Thank you for your knowledge, expertise and skill. You are an amazing doctor!
I’m so thankful that Father God used you in my healing journey.
May you and your practice be blessed.
Dear Dr. Duane Mol,
I would just like to extend a word of gratitude to yourself in the professional manner that you have helped me regain my hearing in both ears. No words can describe the pleasure of hearing again!
Thank you for the advice regarding surgery that has resulted in my hearing returning and no need to use hearing aids as advised by another doctor.
It has been quite a journey throughout these eighteen months but, as they say, it is more than worthwhile and that is all thanks to you.
I will always remember your helpfulness and friendliness.
May God bless you and your dedicated practice going forward!
Most impressed and satisfied patient.
Hello Ear and Eye Clinic staff.
I want to start by saying thank you to all the staff working at the Ear and Eye Clinic. From the security at the door, to the admin ladies, to the nurses, to the anaesthesiologist, and to Dr. Mol.
We only got an appointment for January. My son got sick once again and my husband took the chance to call out of desperation. No one was hesitant to help us immediately. We were greeted friendly at the door and at reception. My son is very scared of hospitals and doctors, but Dr. Mol, somehow, was able to change my son’s perspective. Throughout the appointment, my son was laughing and felt really comfortable, immediately putting us at ease.
Today, my son went to get his tonsils removed. Once again, we were welcomed by a friendly face. The nurses were very friendly but a special thanks can be given to Nurse Tina. She was so patient and loving towards the children, once again showing my son that he doesn’t have to be afraid.
My son became very hungry and very difficult. I do not know who to say thanks to for the teddy bears given to all three children for waiting, but thank you. The anaesthesiologist took her time to discuss everything with us; it did not feel rushed. Instead, it felt like she wanted to build a relationship with us and gain our trust. This too is highly appreciated as it gave us a sense of comfort for what was to come.
I also appreciated to have the option to go into theatre with my son until he was asleep. My son went for two operations before this and we never had that option. It traumatised my son a lot. So having to be there with him every step was so relieving.
The hospital makes so much effort with the food parcels given afterwards for the children. My son ate all his snacks and even asked for more because he enjoyed it so much.
I advise literally everyone I meet to go to Dr. Mol if their child is constantly sick. This experience changed our mindset regarding hospitals. And we as a family would just like to say thank you so very much for taking such good care of one of the most important people in our life: our little boy.
Cochlear Implant
Dr. Mol,
The words thank you will never really be able to show and tell the appreciation we feel with your help towards helping our little boy.
It’s because of people like you that he can hear and start hearing all the wonderful sounds life has to offer him including the sweet sound of his mommy and daddy’s voices.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you!
Geagte Dokter,
Na die eerste operasie was my hele wêreld omgekeer!
Ek kon hoor! Die eerste verandering was in die nag! Ek is 35 jaar getroud en skielik het ek ‘n snorkie in my bed!
Die naggeluide was die ergste! Ek het werklik gesukkel om aan my eie man gewoond te raak. Toe ons getroud is het die man nie so gesnork nie, en wraggies nou saag hy dik balke!
Die eerste stort was skrikwekkend die water se geplas was orals! Dit was heerlik om dit te hoor!
Volgende was die see.
Hi Duane,
It’s only the second day after the switch on and my hearing is dramatically restored. The fact that it will still progress to optimal effect over the next three months is amazing to me.
Thank you for your expertise and your patience over my initial trepidation. Your exposure of the implant process and your reassurance were instrumental in my ultimate decision to go ahead with the procedure.
You are welcome to use me and my Paget’s condition as a testimonial or even to introduce me personally to anyone posing such a request .
All good wishes to you in your practice.
Goeiemiddag Dr Mol
Hiermee wil ek net baie, baie dankie se vir u aandeel in my kogleere inplanting. Dit gaan so goed met my, al is dit nog net ‘n week vandat die inplanting aangeskakel is.
Weereens baie dankie, u diens was puik!
Nasal Surgery
Dr. Mol went out of his way to reconstruct my nose after an accident that had left my nose a pulpy mess. Dr. Mol spent many hours meticulously removing splinters from my sinuses (which means that to this day I don’t suffer from sinus problems or headaches) and even went as far as pulling photographs from the Internet before my arrival at the emergency room in order to have an idea of what I had looked like before the accident. He managed to get my nose almost identical to its original form in only two operations and I am left today with no scaring, a miracle in itself considering the damage from the accident. Dr. Mol also consulted numerous other specialists regarding the rest of my facial trauma, once again, something he wasn’t obligated to do.
In my line of work, a pleasing appearance is quite important, and thanks to Dr. Mol I can still work in the entertainment industry as a television and film actress.
Not only is Dr. Mol a perfectionist at his job, but his bedside manner and positive attitude helped me through a very difficult and emotional time. I will always be grateful for ending up in the gifted hands of this talented doctor and wonderful human being.
After my nose was crushed in a terrible accident two years ago, and after being told by a “top class” plastic surgeon that he won’t really be able to reconstruct my nose, I gave up. I was struggling to breathe, not to mention constantly self-concious about my apearance. I had completely removed myself from social gatherings, and could not even attend gym due to the fact that I could not breathe well.
I found out about Dr. Mol by chance and decided to get a second opinion and get on with my life. I knew my chances were slim and was willing to accept my fate, but still I needed to know.
I met Dr. Mol and within the first five minutes of our meeting he excitedly told me that in no time I would have my nose back.
It all happened exactly two years after my initial accident and I am sure that it is nothing but a miracle. It’s been two weeks and I can breathe, no more catching spiders in my sleep, and even though it was not mentioned or expected, I can smell and taste again. I have my life back.
I look the world in the eyes again!
Dr. Mol is surely a hero in his own right, but for me there is no doubt. I am now positive that God has sent angels down to help us. Dr. Mol is surely one of them.
